Because she is such an acute scientific thinker.
June 3rd, 2010 at 12:45 am
shes denying it because she does not think it is right

She’s ignorant. How does she know– scientists doing the work don’t even know for sure. That’s why people do reserach on these sorts of things.
I’m for the reserach, just not uncontrolled and I’m still not crazy about GOV funding on it though.

She probably doesn’t know anything about it.
It kind of reminds me of people over in the Religion and Spirituality section that try to put down evolution, etc. and don’t act like they’ve ever read a science book.

Could be because she’s confident her side of the debate will prevent all embryonic stem cell research. No research. No cures.
But, more likely, it’s probably just a matter of making a judgement on an issue of science that you don’t understand, based on deeply held beliefs rather than logic. She doesn’t want human beings cloned and harvested for stem cells, so she prefers to beleive that such activities have no scientific merit. Rather like how Al Gore doesn’t want humanity to alter the environment, so he prefers to believe that carbon emission will raise see levels dramatically.

Laura Bush is just as much an authority on science as Al Gore.
Try to put things in perspective.

Because there’s no proof that they do…… Only cool aid drinking fools are falling for the MJ Fox reasoning that he would get well if we could just kill more babies…..

Ignorance. She’s making it up as she goes along. A Bush family trait.
June 3rd, 2010 at 4:18 am
Because she is a skilled and educated embryologist and microbiologist… (sarcasm)

They haven’t yet . All they have done is produce cancers. You are not fond of the truth are you?

are you that retarded that you cant see that the site http://www.whitehouse.org is fiction???? … its called taking things out of context. Think before you post nonsense.
June 3rd, 2010 at 6:28 am
Because she is the smart one in that relationship…..

I advise that you should look more deeply into what the whitehouse.org website is before you ask such a question.

Maybe ignorance is contagious! She has been married to the King of Ignorance for so long!
June 3rd, 2010 at 7:24 am
Because they haven’t thus far.

She feels that if there was a chance they could.Private companies would be jumping in.Getting ready to collect the $billions that will be made.

One of the problems we have in aAmerica is that people who are “celebrities” are somehow considered to be experts.
This is especially dangerous where science is concerned.
If you need to find a book, ask Laura, she’s a librarian. If you need information on stem cells, I would think a biologist would be your first stop.
I’ve been a scientist for over 35 years, and opinions often differ between scientists. Facts, however, are indisputable.
Data is data. No amount of opinion will overrule the data.
Of course, we’re dealing here with an administration that believes that the earth was created with everything in it some 6000 years ago. So that opinion trumps all the scientific data since Darwin. Even though it can be proven in the short term that genetic mutation occurs (the foundation upon which Darwinian evolution rests) some people will not believe that evolution is even possible, based on the reinterpretation of an interpretation of a translation of a book that none of these people are capable of reading in its original language.
And that my friend is the surest proof that, at least in some quarters, evolution hasn’t occured yet.

Can you say for a fact that they will help cure diseases? I bet not since it’s still in the Research method.. So she’s entitled to her opinion.
