Did you know the Catholic Church does NOT oppose stem cell research?

It has been claimed here that the Catholic Church opposes stem cell research (I’m looking at you, Dude). What the Church REALLY opposes is the killing of human embryos, NOT stem cell research itself. The Church is supportive of stem cell research that does not involve the destruction of human beings.

LadySuri, if people were spreading lies about your mother, would you not speak up?
Dude, here’s an article about the biased reporting: http://www.nationalreview.com/comment/comment-smith042302.asp

In your opinion, will human clones would have souls?

I dont want to hear from anyone who doesn’t think we have souls. I am trying to have a serious spiritual discussion. If clones are without souls, we have a whole new market for organs, and blood, and stemcells. We may even be able to transplant a brain into the clone of your body if your body is too damaged. But then would your soul move too?

Do liberals consider it “progressive” to destroy a non consenting human being in order to cure blindness?

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070605/sc_nm/stemcells_blindness_dc

The Nazis thought they were progressive, too.

These modern-day Dr. Mengeles should be a shamed of themselves. This is an abomination, turning a human being (still a human, even in an embroynic stage) into mere genetic material.

I would rather suffer and die than use embroynic stem cells.
I am against fertility clinics. There are many children that need adopted.
The story plainly says they are embryonic.

Tell me again why we need EMBRYONIC stem cell research?

Once again, the most productive types of stem cell research have been from adults. Is there any other reason to do embryonic stem cell research other than to justify killing babies?

Would anyone care to salute the Christians here in the good old USA?

We’re lagging further and further behind. Thank you very much. :-P

Can I get paid to have an abortion?

I was wondering if I can get paid to have an abortion and how much money would I actually receive to actually make it worth my time?

I heard that our government (United States) was going to legalize stemcell research again now that Bush is leaving (Thank, God!), and supposedly they need abortions to get more cells.

Does anyone know how long it is going to take to get this program to get started again? Also, how much money do you think one can make doing this? I live nearby a local university, so I guess they would be the place to go to get paid, right?
What sort of process do you have to go through to get accepted into this sort of program?

And I’m not just doing it for money – I’m also doing it for altruistic reasons. There are many people out there with all sorts of incurable ailments, and maybe my donation can help them.

But I also would love to get a job, but, unfortunately, I am living in Bush’s economy still.
Look, all of you who are saying such a program does not exist, are right – for the time being. However, once stem cell legislation passes, they will be harvesting them from somewhere – and where would that be? It will come from aborted fetuses.

And yes, I am well aware you can sell eggs and that it is quite lucrative – however, this program will definitely pay more. And if I am going to go under an invasive procedure, I will pick the one I can capitalize most on. Wouldn’t you?

Finally, I admit, there are jobs to be had. However, due to Bush’s economy and the glass ceiling, it has become quite hard for an intelligent, independent woman to find a decent paying job. All I am trying to do is make my ends meet for my current lifestyle, and I fail to see how this is somehow wrong and immoral.

Why can’t religious conservatives see eye to eye with peace-loving environmentalists?

This is the biggest paradox I know of.

Not everybody is religious, but the message of God in almost every religion is to love your neighbor, do good onto others, appreciate and commit to the creator and admire all creations of the creator.

This is precisely what Liberal environmentalists try to do, in representing clean air, clean water, increased sustainability of earth so we can sustain more opportunities for souls to dwell in the house of lord, if you want to see it that way.

Also peace-loving activists want to protect the flesh and bones of every living soul so he/she can learn to love and become one with the creator, who so loved this world.

A woman’s right to choose is really just a psychological freedom enhancer that is not supporting abortion, but making it so a woman can have the option if she’s ill.

Gay rights is just something God will judge, not man.

Stemcell research if necessary to save thousands of lives, same concept as World War II against Japan.
Christians are peace-loving people, so why can’t they appreciate that Liberals are trying to beautify the earth in their own way, and that is acknowledgement of God’s creation.

Therefore some Liberals are more Godly than you’d like to believe.
edit: Abe Frohman: Environmentalists and Liberals value the sanctity of life. They oppose capital punishment, and they don’t SUPPORT abortion. They feel the opposition to abortion be a family matter, not a politician’s ordeal.
FAIR COMPROMISE: We need an environmental organization that is supportive of religious principles and assesses economic risks.

2) A lot of the content is taken from people who were in states of desperation and no evidence exists to back these quotes, unless you bring me these people and let them explain themselves.”

Republicans or Democrats?

Personally I’m a Democrat. I personally feel 90% of Republicans are closed minded old men who haven’t realized it’s not the forties anymore. I believe gay marriage should be legal, it doesn’t bother me if two guys or girls wanna get married. It’s thier choice. I’d like a black or woman president in office. It’ll be a new beginning. I also beleive abortion is a woman’s choice. If she doesn’t want the baby she should have the choice what to do. I also believe Stemcell research should continue. It could mean more lives saved. Thats my personal feelings what do you believe
